Abundant Blessings And Simple Pleasures

Welcome to my new adventure!
I have been humming and hawing about starting a blog for awhile.  I'm always told that I have the best ideas, or that I am amazingly creative, or super organized.  But all of those ideas, routines, and tips come from searching the Internet and then putting my own spin on what I've found.  I'm not an expert, just a learner.  It feels that it is now my turn to repay all of the kindnesses that has been shared by other blogger and websites.  I tend to dabble in all sorts of things and that's what you'll find here.

Here is our motto sitting in our kitchen.  Just a dollar store frame, spray paint and my printer.  Looking at it while I make lunches in the morning keeps me grounded.
I have a motto for our family: Abundant Blessing, Grateful Hearts, and Simple Pleasures.  My hope is to have you feel that same sentiment when you visit my blog.

Some bits and bobs about me...
I have two children, so you'll hear about my adventures as a mother and how I try to make teachable moments throughout our day.

Here is "Dude" and "Sweet Pea" in the Grand Teatons

I love planning parties.  Friends call me "Theme Queen".  If my husband wasn't such an introvert, I'm sure we'd have more of them.  Opening your home and sharing your blessings with others creates such pleasure.  And added bonus - it makes you clean your house.

I volunteer as a room parent at my children's school.  In my planning research, I couldn't find a lot of information to pull from, so hopefully this will help other room moms and dads in their service.

Before children, I was a college administrator, and still love college students.  So it's quiet a surprise to me still that I now teach preschool enrichment classes at our local rec. center.  I'll share some of my class room plans.  And it turns out that the rules for 3 year olds aren't that much different than the ones for 18 year olds.

I enjoy writing, and will share Princess Sarah, a character in a series of children's stories that I have been writing for my family for a few years.

Our home is a blessing. I'll share how I care for it, and in turn, care for my family.

I've always dreamt of having a library, with an amazingly comfy chair, glorious natural light streaming in through the windows that are framed by bookshelves and a window seat with plump pillows.  In reality, I have a library card and read at night before I go to sleep.  But I always  ask "What are you reading?"

I enjoy craft projects, from decorating for the holidays, unique & simple gifts, painting for fun, simple sewing, and cross stitch.  I'll share my projects, and when I'm able to cross something off of my "incompletions" list.

So, thanks for stopping by.  Please let me know what you think.  This newbie blogger is always seeking advice.  I'm sure that this blog will change over time.  Just like me, it is still a "work in progress".
